Manchester United great Nemanja Vidic has announced his retirement from professional football.
The former United skipper was a free agent after having his contract with Inter Milan cancelled with mutual consent earlier this month, with the 34-year-old struggling with hernia and back injuries and failing to make an appearance for Nerazzurri this season.
It’s an end of a truly remarkable career and United fans are coming out in numbers to pay their tributes to one of the greatest centre-backs of Premier League era.
Spoke to Vidic in Dec. “Moscow,” he said, “was the highlight. To win the cup where I’d lived, in my old stadium, against our main rivals…”

71% – Of all players to have made more than 200 PL appearances, Nemanja Vidic has the best win percentage (211 games, 149 wins). Leader.
