Arsenal and Barcelona continue to fight over Thierry Henry to this day

The tussle between Arsenal and Barcelona over Thierry Henry continues to this day.

The former France international, after much speculation, joined Barcelona for a fee of £18 million from Arsenal in 2007.

After playing the best football of his life for the Gunners for eight years, the Frenchman moved to the Primera Division giants as Arsene Wenger began the rebuilding of his squad following the North London club’s move to Emirates Stadium.

The move left many Arsenal fans with broken hearts, but the striker is regarded as the best player to have played for the club.

However, Henry won the Champions League title during his time at Barcelona, and he is fondly remembered by the fans of the Catalan club as well.

So it was only appropriate that the Twitter account of both clubs decided to remember their legend before their Champions League clash on Tuesday.

Barcelona started with showing Thierry Henry’s goal from the 6-2 demolition of Real Madrid.

Arsenal’s Twitter soon replied with Titi’s famous goal against Tottenham from 2002.

Barcelona were not to be left behind, so they replied with Henry’s goal against Atletico Madrid from 2009.

The Gunners finally settled the dispute with Henry’s strike against Liverpool.

It’s safe to say that the only winner from this fight was Thierry Henry.
