Hebei China Fortune have come to an agreement with the Argentine forward on a two-year deal to play at the Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium, where he’ll be coach by former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Lavezzi is the latest European player to switch to the Chinese top-flight and it’s been reported that he will earn £23.5 million during his stay there, which translates to £400.000 per week…
The 30-year-old Argentina international, whose PSG contract ran to the end of the season, scored 22 goals in 107 Ligue 1 games after joining the French champions in 2012, but has mainly been used as a substitute this season.
He had been heavily linked with a summer move to Chelsea, with Serie A giants Inter and Juventus were also believed to be interested in a summer swoop.
Lavezzi will join former Premier League players Gervinho, Gael Kakuta and Stephane Mbia at Heibei China Fortune.
The likes of Ramires, Jackson Martinez, Alex Teixeira, and Fredy Guarin have also moved to China this year.
