Falcao left out of Champions League squad amid rumours linking him with a move to China

Chelsea have left out on-loan striker Radamel Falcao from their Champions League squad for the latter stages of the tournament.

The Colombian international was absent in the squad list released by the club on Wednesday, with new signings Alexandre Pato and Matt Miazga both making the list.

The BBC reports that the omission could be because the West London club are still trying to offload the 29-year old, with Chinese club Jiangsu Suning interested in his services.

Falcao, who is currently owned by Ligue 1 club Monaco, was linked with a transfer deadline day move with La Liga clubs Atletico Madrid and Valencia, but the move failed after the striker reportedly failed his medical.

Atletico Madrid have recently sold Jackson Martinez to Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande in a £31 million deal, and it is reported that the move was engineered by Martinez’s agent Jorge Mendes.

Mendes also represents Falcao and could be the driving force behind the striker’s potential move to China. The Asian transfer window shuts down on February 26.
