Manchester City ace “to leave” when Pep Guardiola arrives

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk predicts the midfielder will leave Manchester City when Pep Guardiola arrives next summer, according to The Sun.

On the last day of the winter transfer market, it was officially announced that the Spaniard will become the Citizen’s coach next season, joining them on a three-year deal from Bayern Munich, where his contract ran out.

Guardiola coached Toure at Barcelona between 2008 en 2010, but the Ivory Coast midfielder opted to join Man City on a £24 million transfer after he lost his place in Pep’s starting lineup to Sergio Busquets.

“It’s not a question of whether Pep likes him or not. It’s life, you know,” Seluk insisted.

“Pep can call Yaya and speak to him to let him know ‘I’m with you’ or ‘I am not with you’.”

Seluk went further, criticising Guardiola for achieving nothing at Barcelona that Luis Enrique hasn’t equalled since the Spaniard took the job at Bayern, and for leaving the Primera Division giants after failing to win the title in 2012.

Toure has made 251 appearances for Man City, scoring 70 goals in his five-and-a-half seasons at the club. He has helped the Citizens win two Premier League titles, as well as the FA Cup and the League Cup.

The 32-year-old also played in Belgium, Ukraine, Greece and France before joining Barcelona in 2007.
