It would be a shock if Vincent Kompany decided to leave Manchester City during the summer of 2016. But reports in Italy suggest the Belgian skipper is a wanted man.
According to Italian sports news outlet Corriere
The newspaper believes the 29-year-old would be a big dream transfer for the Romans, but they are planning to stay in touch with the Citizens to see if the centre-back could become available when Pep Guardiola takes over the reigns at the Etihad.
No one knows for sure how the Spanish tactician values his players, so even the current City captain is not sure about his spot next season, meaning a transfer can’t be excluded, even if his current deal at the club runs until 2019, joining the club in 2008 from Hamburg.
On top, City have been rumoured to be interested in Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci and Kompany would be able to play with fellow Belgian national player Radja Nainggolan at Roma. However, the midfielder is apparently wanted by Chelsea, according to The Sun.
The Giallorossi have already identified alternative options, like Empoli’s Lorenzo Tonelli and Sassuolo’s Francesco Acerbi.
