According to a report by Il Messagero and as reported by Football-Italia,
The 22-year-old Brazilian has been linked with the Red Devils since last summer, and was rumoured to leave the Serie club during the January transfer window to join United.
However, a deal never materialised as Lazio reportedly refused a £37.5 million offer from the Premier League club.
Now, Il Messagero reports that Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito was overheard by journalists while speaking after a Serie B match between Salernitana and Crotone.
Lotito reportedly said he signed Anderson for €8 million (£6.2m) and has already re-sold him for €60 million (£46.9m). “Next year he’ll go to Manchester United.”
However, Lazio denied the report about Anderson’s transfer immediately, stating the news is devoid of any foundation, according to Football-Italia.
The winger joined Lazio in the summer of 2013 from Santos and has registered 19 goals and 17 assists in in 91 appearances for the Serie A club. He was also capped once for the Brazil national team, playing seven minutes in a friendly encounter with Mexico (2-0 win).
