Arsenal have seemingly already started making plans for life after Arsene Wenger at the club. The Frenchman’s current deal with the club expires at the end of next season, and none of the parties have talked about a possible new deal.
It’s understood that the team’s performance during this season and the next will determine Wenger’s future at the club. Nevertheless, according to a reliable French journalist, the North London club have already decided on the name who is going to be Wenger’s successor with the Gunners.
Karim Nedjari, who works for French publication L’Equipe, claims that the Gunners have already zeroed in on club legend Thierry Henry in place to take charge of the club, once Wenger departs.
However, he has failed to mention when Arsene Wenger will step down from his post at the club.
“One day, Henry will replace Wenger,” he told LeSport 10.
“His philosophy and ruthless mentality make him the boss. He will leave his comfortable chair [as a pundit] and put on his track suit.”
Wenger has come under severe criticism from a section of fans following his team’s disappointing performances in Premier League this season. The Gunners are placed third in the league table, eight points behind Leicester City and three points behind local rivals Tottenham.
