Joao Santos, agent of Napoli’s defensive midfielder Jorginho, has revealed that Real Madrid and Arsenal have expressed interests in his client.
Santos shared the news on Italian radio station Kiss Kiss while discussing the future of the 24-year-old. The Brazilian-born has played for Italy Under-21 team, but remains eligible to play for both Italy and Brazil senior teams.
Jorginho has impressed with his form this season and has turned the eyes of many clubs with his performances, as he has provided four assists in 26 league appearances for the Naples club this season.
Santos told the radio station: “Interest from Arsenal? It’s true. After the game against Palermo, compliments arrived from Real Madrid as well. Only compliments, nothing more. But it’s pleasing to receive expressions of respect from one of the most prestigious clubs in the world.
“For the future, we’ll wait for the end of the season. Jorginho wants to win the Scudetto with Napoli. He’s enthusiastic about these last nine finals. I want to reiterate that his priority is Napoli.”
Jorginho moved to Napoli in a co-ownership deal with Hellas Verona on a four-and-a-half-year deal in January 2014. He was a part of the Napoli squad which won the 2013/2014 Coppa Italia trophy.
In June 2015, Napoli bought the other half of his ownership rights from the Mastini, and his transfer cost £7.1 million in total to the Naples club.
Napoli are currently involved in an exciting race for the Serie A title, as they are tanked second in the league table, three points behind leaders Juventus.
