Chelsea admit huge transfer mistake

It has been a disappointing season for Chelsea, who are currently sitting in tenth place in the Premier League table. The Blues are expected to appoint current Italy head coach Antonio Conte to be the long-term successor of Jose Mourinho, starting from next season, to rocket them back to Premier League success.

Conte wants to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge to lead his attack, as Roman Abramovich has agreed that Mourinho made a mistake in selling the Everton striker, according to The Sun.

However, the Belgian recently revealed he wants to play in the Champions League, something he’ll not be able to do with Chelsea next season. On top, he’s courted by a number of big European clubs, like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus.

Meanwhile, the Italian champions have ramped up their interest in Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante, who is also said to be a target for Chelsea, according to Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport (via Football-Italia).

The 24-year-old midfielder joined the Foxes this summer from French side Caen for £6.75 million and has been a key player in their amazing season.

Lukaku’s fellow countryman Thibaut Courtois has refused to rule out a transfer away from Stamford Bridge in the summer, according to Goal.

“I do not say yes, I do not say no. I do not know,” he told Belgian broadcaster RTBF when asked what his future plans are. “I still have three years on my contract. We must see what Chelsea want.”
