Chelsea scouts fly to Italy on instructions of Antonio Conte

Italy national coach Antonio Conte is currently the favourite to replace Guus Hiddink at Chelsea in the summer.

The former Juventus manager hasn’t yet officially taken over the job, but he seems to be already planning for his future at Stamford Bridge.

According to the latest report from Italian publication Calciomercato, Chelsea scouts, on instructions from Conte, have watched over AC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura recently.

The 26-year-old has become a key part of the Milan squad since his arrival at the club in 2014. He signed for the Rossoneri from Atalanta in a £5.25 million transfer.

The report states that Manchester City and Liverpool are also interested in the two-time Italian international, as the Reds are known to have a long-term interest in the player.

Bonaventura, who is currently in negotiations with Milan over a new contract, has scored 13 league goals in 59 appearances during his stay at the capital club.

Back in 2012, when he was still playing for Atalanta, Bonaventura revealed that he dreams of playing for Chelsea one day.
