Arsenal forward Theo Walcott’s future at the club seems far from certain, especially after the recent comments from manager Arsene Wenger.
The 27-year-old has suffered from a dip in his form in the second half of the season, and Wenger recently refused to confirm that Walcott’s future lies with the North London club.
Now Italian source Calciomercato has claimed that Serie A club AC Milan are interested in Walcott and are ready to offer prodigious midfielder Manuel Locatelli as part of a swap deal. Locatelli is an Italy Under-19 international and is on the verge of breaking into the Rossoneri’s senior squad.
Wenger, when asked if Walcott will be at Arsenal next season, said: “I don’t know yet, I’m not in transfer mode at the moment, but I think he has gone through a bad spell. Let’s see how well he finishes the season.”
In other transfer news, the Gunners are embattled in a transfer battle with Juventus for Sassuolo wing defender Sime Vrsaljko.
TransferMarketWeb, via Daily Star, claims that Arsene Wenger is ready to offer the Croatia international a starting spot in his team to lure him to Emirates Stadium.
The 24-year-old, who is under contract with his club until 2019, is valued at £12.5 million and has been followed by the Serie A champions for some time now, as they are seeking a backup to Stephan Lichtsteiner.
