Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has urged his national teammate, Alexis Sanchez, to join him at the Bundesliga club.
The Arsenal star has been involved in negotiations with the North London club over a new contract for the past few months. However, the latest reports have suggested that Carlo Ancelotti, who will take charge of Bayern Munich in the summer, wants the Chili international to play for the Bundesliga giants.
Now, Sanchez’s Chile teammate Vidal has urged him to quit the North London club and join Bayern.
Goal.com quotes Vidal: “Hopefully (Alexis can join Bayern). We have played together since playing for the Under-20’s, so it would be nice to play with him again!”
Last week, AS Chile claimed that Sanchez is a top transfer target for the Bundesliga giants. The report suggested that Bayern are ready to pay £32 million for the playmaker, but it’s highly unlikely that the Gunners will allow one of their top players in the summer.
Sanchez arrived at Emirates Stadium in a £35 million move from Barcelona in 2014. His current deal expires in 2018 and he is currently in talks over a new deal.
His new contract will reportedly see his wages increase from £130,000-a-week to £180,000-a-week.
