Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning to rebuild his team’s spine in the upcoming summer transfer window.
If the latest report from the Guardian is to be believed, the French manager is planning to go all guns blazing and sign, at least, three players in preparation for the last year in his current contract with the North London club.
Wenger’s priority is to sign a top striker ahead of the next season, and he is planning to make a move for Juventus forward Alvaro Morata.
Spanish reports claim that Real Madrid plan to exercise their buy-back clause of £23million on their former player
and then resell him for a profit. Wenger, who attempted to buy the striker couple of seasons ago, is ready to spend more over £30 million to secure his signing.
The next player on Wenger’s list is Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka. The Gunners have reportedly already made an approach to sign the Swiss international, and they are confident that a bid of £35 million will land them their target.
Last, but not least, Wenger is also looking for a centre-back in the market. According to the report, he might make an approach for AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas. The Gunners will face competition from Chelsea for the 24-year-old, but they will have an added advantage due to Champions League football next season.
Additionally, the report also claims that the Gunners will listen to the offers for forward Theo Walcott.
