Liverpool have stolen a march on Manchester United in the pursuit of Braga midfielder Rafa Silva. Portuguese publication A Bola claims that the Reds have already established official contact with the Liga NOS club and have started negotiations over a potential transfer.
Silva reportedly caught the eye of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp with his performances in his team’s run to the Europa League quarter-finals. He scored three goals and provided four assists in the continental competition, and has also scored six goals in 27 league games for his club this season.
The 22-year-old has a £15.8 million release clause in his contract with his club and has also been linked with moves to Manchester United and Porto.
He is also looked after by famous football agent Jorge Mendes and in February reports suggested that he is wanted by Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
United have reportedly scouted him on multiple occasions in the past, but if the latest report is to be believed, Liverpool appears a more likely summer destination for the Portugal international.
