Chelsea are currently embroiled in a legal battle with their former first-team doctor Dr Eva Carneiro.
Dr Carneiro was publicly criticised by former manager Jose Mourinho for treating Eden Hazard during the 2-2 draw with Swansea City last August.
She didn’t appear as the first-team doctor after that incident and soon left the club. She is currently trying to
prove that her exit fits the grounds for constructive dismissal in an employment tribunal.
In the hearing today, the Blues tried to dismiss Carneiro’s allegations by claiming that she was hungry for publicity. The West London club claimed that she nominated a first-team player for ice bucket challenge and constantly positioned herself beside Mourinho during matches.

There were also conflicting views from both sides about what Mourinho said to Dr Carneiro in his outburst during the Swansea game.
Carneiro QC says she heard "clearly" the Portuguese for "daughter of a whore". “You say 'filha da puta' when you’re denigrating a woman.”

It has also emerged from the documents presented by Chelsea’s legal team in the tribunal that the West London club offered Dr. Carneiro “an open offer of £1.2m to settle her claims”.
