Chelsea are closing on a deal for Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Eduardo. Dinamo manager Zlatko Kranjcar confirmed that news that the 33-year-old is set to sign for the West London club in the coming days.
When asked whether the upcoming Champions League game against Red Bull Salzburg will be the Portuguese keeper’s last for the Croatian club, Kranjcar said: “Yes, I think so.
“Eduardo has been given an amazing opportunity to leave for a big club like Chelsea.
“When he arrived, we gained security in our team, and in my time in the club he has defended his goal very well. But the situation is that he is leaving. May he have all the good luck in a big club.”
Eduardo was a part of the Portugal national team that won the Euro Cup in France. However, he failed to make any appearance in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the West London club have also been linked with Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini. The Sun claims that the Blues are planning a last-minute £25m bid for centre-back Giorgio Chiellini. Conte, who has previously worked with the 32-year-old, recently admitted that he needs to sign one more defender this summer.
In addition, Sky Sports have claimed that Chelsea still remains interested in Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly. The Blues have been linked with the Senegal international throughout the summer, but their efforts to sign the player have been consistently rebuffed by the Naples club.
