Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is determined to sign centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli this summer. The Blues, who have maintained an interest in the Senegal international throughout the summer, have already seen their initial approach for the player rebuffed by the Naples club.
Now, according to Italian website calciomercato.it, the Blues are ready to launch a renewed bid of £43.4m for the player in the coming days. Napoli don’t intend to sell the 25-year-old and have offered him a new contract. However, Koulibaly has refused to sign a new contract as he wants to quit the club this summer.
In another Chelsea-related transfer news, Gazzamercato.it has claimed that AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez is very close to signing for the West London club. Chelsea and AC Milan have already agreed to the sale of the 34-year-old, but the Blues want to finalise the deal only after current number two Asmir Begovic has departed from the club.
The 34-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has played for the likes of Real Madrid, Villarreal and Sevilla in his career.
