Chelsea have targeted Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, 27, as a replacement for Petr Cech, according to The Telegraph.
However, Jose Mourinho faces a task in convincing the player to spend his peak years as a number two to Thibaut Courtois.
Arsenal have rejected a swap deal for Cech, 33, that would see 21-year-old midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain join Chelsea. The Gunners would prefer a cash-only deal worth £10m to sign the Blues’ back-up goalkeeper, the Daily Mirror reports.
However, it is now believed that the Blues will make a straight £20m offer for the England international.
Monaco striker Radamel Falcao has rubbished suggestions has he signed for Chelsea, the Daily Star reports.
Reports on Tuesday claimed that the deal had been agreed, but the striker has denied that everything has been wrapped up already.
Chelsea will go up against Arsenal and Atletico Madrid for the signature of Anderlecht starlet Youri Tielemans this summer, the Daily Express reports.
However, he comes highly-rated and could set the club back £14.4m to snap him up.
