Karim Benzema’s proposed move to Arsenal has been one of the longest running transfer sagas of the summer, with several reports claiming that the deal is on, the off, then on again..then off again.
Fans have been patiently waiting all summer to see Arsene Wenger make a move for a proven world class goalscorer, but so far no deal has come off.
However, two established ‘transfer gurus’ have given insights into the status of Arsenal’s pursuit for Karim Benzema.
Norwegian journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft, who is a former Premier League striker himself, has confirmed that Arsenal are definitely in for the France international, though Arsene Wenger is still not yet ‘all in’ for the deal.

Meanwhile, Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, who has been keeping a close watch on the move throughout the summer, has gone one better than by saying that a deal is closer than first thought, and Benzema could even be an Arsenal player by Tuesday.
