Tottenham news – Giovani’s Spurs frustration, Bale out for season, Redknapp predicts super spending from City

Giovani’s Spurs frustration.

In an interview with Fifa.com Giovani dos Santos has revealed how frustrating his time at Spurs has been since his arrival in 2008. Having been signed by Juande Ramos and playing regularly, he has hardly figured under Harry Redknapp and is currently on loan at Racing Santander.

He told Fifa.Com: “This season has been more frustrating because I thought I would get more playing time. I came back from the World Cup, played during pre-season and performed very well in several games, but yet I wasn’t given an opportunity.”

He went on to insist there had been no personal issues with Redknapp and that he now concentrates on fulfilling his own potential.

Redknapp predicts super spending from City.

Speaking before tonight’s game with Manchester City Harry Redknapp has warned the football world that City’s spending will not stop until they win the Premier League and Champions League.

Speaking to Sky Sports Redknapp said: “The man from Abu Dhabi has got so much money, I mean; it isn’t like money to him is it? They tell me they have got one or two players signed already who’ll blow your brains out. They aren’t going to stop until they win the championship and even the Champions League, are they?”

Redknapp admitted that there is little he, or most of the other managers in the league can do to stop City dominating in the transfer market.

Bale out for season.

Tottenham have confirmed that Gareth Bale will be out for the remainder of the season after getting injured against Blackpool on Saturday. He was forced off after a strong challenge from Charlie Adam, who was not punished for the challenge.

On TottenhamHotspur.com a statement was released, it said: “Following consultations with an ankle specialist, Gareth will remain in a protective boot for up to 12 days before beginning rehabilitation with the player expected to be fit for the start of pre-season.”

Spurs now hope his recovery will be a smooth one and that he will be fit for pre-season training.
