Schalke have dismissed reports linking striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to a January move to Manchester United, The
United were considering offering Dimitar Berbatov to the Bundesliga side in exchange for the former Ajax, Real Madrid and AC Milan player.
But Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has rejected claims that the Gelsenkirchen side are ready to let their top scorer leave the club.
He said: “Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is under contract at Schalke and he is a first-team regular at our club. We have no ambition to transfer him. He is showing top standard performances this season and it is pretty much usual those performances are getting noticed by top-quality clubs.
“At this moment we have not received any offer for the services of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from any club.”
The Netherlands striker has been in good form this season and is currently the Bundesliga’s second top goal scorer with ten goals from 11 games.
