Wenger praise for van Persie after Norwich double

Arsenal continued their run of form with their 10th win in 12 games away at Norwich City.

The Gunners fell behind to an early Steve Morison goal after sloppy defending by German international Per Mertesacker, but in truth controlled the game and eventually won thanks to two Robin Van Persie goals. Arsenal’s captain has now scored 31 in 30 games in 2011 and has spearheaded the Gunners’ resurgence up the table. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has hailed the importance of Van Persie, whose two goals yesterday were taken superbly.

‘Robin [van Persie] is exceptional but we all know within the club that he’s an exceptional player. Sometimes, what was in the way was the fact he was injured. Since he plays, he shows just how good he is’, Wenger said.
