Ian Holloway has called for his Crystal Palace side to remain focused for the run-in to the end of the league season in order to assure themselves of a play-off place, reports the Givemefootball.
Palace’s 2-2 draw with play-off chasers Leicester means they lie in fifth, a point above Bolton, but are still only two ahead of the Foxes who lead the chasing pack, albeit with a match in hand. And with the Championship table tightly packed this season, Holloway has called for his side to achieve the necessary results after the weekend’s disappointing draw.
“It wasn’t a pretty affair but at this stage of the season it isn’t about that. It’s about the mind-set. If we had won 10 in a row we would have been happy but now in this position, because we have been in the play-off frame for some time, people are disappointed.
“It’s been a roller-coaster and there is a lot of talk about who we are competing with for the play-offs but we just have to get on with it.”
The ex-Blackpool boss has seen a dip in his side’s form recent times which saw the once-achievable aim of automatic promotion slip beyond Palace’s grasp. Palace haven’t won a game since the 4-2 defeat of Hull on March 5 and have only picked up two points from their six matches since.
The South Londoners now face two matches on the road, starting at Ewood Park on Saturday to face Blackburn relegation-fighting Blackburn ahead of a midweek London derby at The Den before hosting Peterborough on the final week of the league season.
