Fulham are still speaking with Olympiakos over the transfer of Kostas Mitroglou, Sky
Negotiations began earlier this week and a fee in the region of £12.5m has been mooted, a club record for the Cottagers.
Olympiakos are due to play Atromitos in the Greek Cup on Wednesday but Mitroglou may not be involved. Instead, the striker is said to be travelling to London for a medical.
Mitroglou has scored 17 goals in 19 games this season and has been linked with an exit, with a number of major European clubs said to be interested. The 25-year-old previously played for Borussia Monchengladbach and has had spells on loan at Panionios and Atromitos.
A Greece international with eight goals in 28 games, Mitroglou’s signing would trump the signing of Steve Marlet in 2001, with the purchases of Andy Johnson and Bryan Ruiz undisclosed transfers that may have been record-setters.
Rene Meuelensteen’s team are currently 18th in the Premier League table, a point clear of the bottom three after the 2-0 defeat to Swansea City on Tuesday evening.
