Adebayor targets Brittania win

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has targeted a win for his side away at Stoke on Saturday, Tottenhamhotspur.com reports.

The 30-year-old previously stated that the club was aiming for six wins out of six in their final games and have so far remained unbeaten with two wins and a draw.

Now Adebayor has called for three wins in the final games against Stoke, West Ham and Aston Villa as they aim to finish as high up the table as possible.

“We have three games left and we have to win,” he insisted. “I said that before the last game and I’m saying the same again now.

“We want to finish as well as possible. Don’t get me wrong, we know that during the season we’ve let our fans down because of some of the results. We are trying our best to make that better.

The Togolese player admitted that Stoke were a difficult side to beat due to their physical style and acknowledged the success they have had since adopting a passing approach under Mark Hughes.

The former Arsenal man said that he would take a 1-0 victory before kick-off if he could, insisting that a win is still a win no matter the scoreline.

“It will be hard at Stoke. I managed to score there last season, hopefully I will do it again. It won’t be easy, but let’s go out there, play our football and try to win the game.

“If I could take 1-0 now, I would say yes. Let’s just get the win. I don’t know how, when, 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, let’s just win the game and get the three points. That’s all that matters.”
