Manchester City threw away a two-goal lead against Burnley to hamper their title hopes, while the Clarets boost their survival chances, reports BBC
City took the lead in the 23rd minute through David Silva. The Spanish playmaker scored his fourth goal in three games, finishing from close range to give the Sky Blues a deserved opener.
10 minutes later, midfielder Fernandinho doubled City’s lea d. The Brazilian international hit a curled effort to make it 2-0 just after half an hour.
After the break, George Boyd halved the deficit to give Burnley a lifeline in the second-half, before a late Ashley Barnes goal secured an incredible comeback.
The result means Manchester City have failed to take advantage of Manchester United and Chelsea both dropping points, but Burnley have gained ground on 17th-placed Hull City, with both sides now level on points (16).
