Manchester United have signed Bolton Wanderers defender Andy Kellett on loan until the end of the season, with Saidy Janko moving in the opposite direction, reports BBC Sport.
The 21-year-old has only featured for the Trotters first-team on four occasions, and was loaned out to League Two side Plymouth earlier on in the campaign. It was a relatively quiet transfer window for the Red Devils, with manager Louis Van Gaal set to make real moves in the market in the summer.
Kellett’s recent loan move comes as a surprise, but with United’s U21s being depleted after so many players were loaned out this season, reserve team boss Warren Joyce has been desperate for new recruits.
Kellett made 15 appearances during his time with Plymouth, and is now Manchester United’s third signing of the January transfer window.
Bolton have, in return, signed Saidy Janko from United, who will push for first-team football with the Championship club. The Swiss midfielder, 19, has yet to feature in the senior setup at United, but has a chance to prove his worth with Neil Lennon‘s men until the end of the current campaign.
