Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is hoping his side to win their Premier League title back off Chelsea next season, after the Sky Blues relinquished their crown with hardly a whimper this campaign, reports Sky
Chelsea led in the Premier League from day one, and no side have managed to topple them throughout the campaign. The Londoners avoided defeat in both games to Manchester City too, which meant they could never gain ground. Manuel Pellegrini’s side suffered a badly-timed dip in form as Chelsea started to drop points, which meant they failed to capitalise.
Despite the disappointment, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero wants to win back the title next season. He feels their impressive end-of-season form can be a catalyst to start the following campaign strongly, with Pellegrini men having won four games on the bounce. The Argentine has impressed in attack for the Citizens when fit, and wants to lead them to title glory in 2015/16.
Aguero has won two Premier League crowns for City in his time at the Etihad stadium, and believes they are good enough to recover from a poor season. He said: “We want to finish the best we can and start next season fighting for every title. This season wasn’t as we expected but we will face new challenges next season and there is always revenge in football.”
