Reports in Portugal claim that FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez has agreed terms with Arsenal ahead of a high-profile summer move to the Emirates Stadium, according to the Metro.
Martinez has been considerably sought after for some time and this summer looks set to be the time for him to move on, having been given a send off by Porto supporters in their last game of the season against Penafiel on Friday. The Colombian has reportedly been looking to move on, with Manchester United and Tottenham linked, but Arsenal now have agreed a deal in principle with Porto to sign their star man.
The 28-year-old has a fine scoring record for the Portuguese side, having netted 32 times this season in all competitions, and overall he has 92 goals in 133 appearances since joining the club in the summer of 2012.
Arsenal are set to make some changes to their squad over the summer in order to try and bridge the gap between themselves and champions Chelsea. Should he indeed join, Martinez would provide sterner competition to first-choice striker Olivier Giroud, with the Gunners having lacked depth in attack in recent seasons.
