Arsenal star Santi Cazorla has opened up about his future at the club by saying that he will be going nowhere this summer, despite recent links with a move to Atletico Madrid, the Daily
The Spanish giants had been watching to see how his situation developed, after it was suggested that Arsenal could be looking to offload the 30-year-old in the coming weeks.
However, his future seemed secure when he played a huge part in helping the club to win eight games on the bounce, thus securing a neat third place finish before going on to help his side retain the FA Cup.
And now Cazorla has confirmed as much by laying out his intentions for next season.
“It’s true we’ve won two FA Cups but we want to fight for the Premier League,” he said.
“Let’s see if we can win the Champions League – that’s what I think the objective of this club, the team, the manager is.
“Let’s see if next year we can do it. The first thing is to fight for the Premier League and we’re going to see if we can do it from the start.
“I’m very happy here at Arsenal and I’ve got two more years on my contract.
“I only think about getting better at this club. I’m very happy here and I don’t think about leaving right now.”
Cazorla arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Spanish side Malaga in the summer of 2012, and has since gone on to score 27 goals in 148 appearances across all competitions, contributing to two FA Cup wins in the process.
