Sergio Ramos could find himself in hot water at Real Madrid after telling the club’s hierarchy that he doesn’t back the recent hiring of Rafa Benitez, according to the Daily
Arsenal Transfer Gossip
The La Liga giants parted ways with Carlo Ancelotti just 12 months after he won them the famed La Decima. However, he ended the most previous campaign empty handed.
Having finished third in the Spanish top flight and crashing out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage, the club will now have to watch arch-rivals Barcelona compete against Juventus for the treble.
But Madrid legend Ramos feels that Ancelotti should have been given more time.
“I’m not the best placed to decide these things,” he said
“Perhaps, in my case, I would not have done this but that is what the club directors are there to do.
“Madrid fans can savour the taste of not only a great person but a great coach who gave us a lot of titles that we didn’t win for a long time.”
His comments will come as an interest to the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, who are both keen on adding more quality to their defensive areas.
With the board not receptive to his comments, his future at the Santiago Bernabeu could come into question.
