Arsenal are said to be seriously considering a move for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia as the club starts to look at other targets than Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, according to the Metro.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is set to embark on a busy summer in the transfer market as he hopes to add more options to his midfield and forward areas.
Wenger has been a long time admirer of Saints star Schneiderlin, but with him looking more likely to join Manchester United, reports in Italy are now claiming that Arsenal are ready to turn their attentions toward Kondogbia.
Kondogbia is said to be keen to leave Monaco this summer, with Inter Milan already in contact with his agent, though Arsenal can jump ahead of the queue if they meet his £25.4m asking price.
The 23-year-old is an archetypal box-to-box midfielder, and is being tipped for a big future in the game having taken part in an impressive Champions League campaign and adding three caps for the French national team to his name.
