The Spanish giants are still keen to snap up United stopper David de Gea over the summer, though the Express believe that they are still yet to table an official offer for his services.
It was thought that United would make an inquiry about long-time target Gareth Bale and striker Karim Benzema when Real came calling for de Gea, but reports have hinted that they have gone after Bale and Varane instead.
Both stars have recently been on Chelsea’s radar, but it is thought that Louis van Gaal is keen to get the jump on Jose Mourinho by launching a £110m double move for the pair.
With Real Madrid set to confirm the appointment of Rafa Benitez this week, it is not thought that the club would be willing to sanction any major moves before the former Liverpool boss is even in the job.
