The Red Devils have been keeping tabs on the 27-year-old this season, amid rumours that he will look to move on over the summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Louis van Gaal was set to swoop with a £30m bid for the France international, after missing out on a move for Gareth Bale.
Benzema is currently on holiday in the United States, and had seen his future come into doubt as Real were thinking of cashing in on him in order to bolster their transfer kitty.
However, is has since been suggested that new manager Rafa Benitez now wants to keep hold of the striker and work with him when the season kicks off in August.
Something that has been echoed by Djaziri, who said: “What is Karim going to do in Manchester? He’s happy in Madrid. He doesn’t want to leave.
“Benzema would only leave if Real Madrid told him he was surplus to requirements, because he isn’t going to leave of his own accord.
“He wants to retire at Real Madrid.”
