According to talkSPORT, the Brazilian would ideally like to move to Atletico Madrid. Luis spent four years with Diego Simeone’s side before he moved to the London club, and was part of the team that clinched the La Liga title last year, and reached the Champions League final.

Despite the accolades, the left-back has only made 15 Premier League appearances for his new club, with Jose Mourinho appearing to prefer Cesar Azpilicueta.

While Luis may be heading back to the Spanish capital, Real Madrid man Fabio Coentrao could be coming the other way.

According to the Metro, the 27-year-old expects to be leaving the Bernabeu this summer, with his former boss Mourinho set to battle with Sporting Lisbon for his signature.

However, the former Benfica man confirmed that he will not be playing for another Portuguese side, seemingly eliminating the Blues’ main competition.

“Contrary to rumours that I will play for Sporting, and despite the respect I have for club, the only Portuguese club for me is Benfica,” he stated.

The Metro suggest that it could take around £15m to persuade Rafa Benitez to part with the player.
