Chelsea could be set to miss out on signing Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann after Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain made a £28.5m bid for his services, according to the Daily
Griezmann was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge earlier this month, but the Blues were apparently unwilling to meet the player’s £43m release clause.
Atleti coach Diego Simeone is reluctant to let him move on, but PSG are ready to test the Spanish club’s resolve by making a tempting opening offer.
PSG are said to be preparing for a heavy recruitment drive this summer by making offers for both Manchester United winger Angel di Maria and Juventus star Paul Pogba.
However, it has been said that they only have the funds available for one big transfer this summer thanks to the stringent Financial Fair Play rules, and it is thought the man they will target over anyone else is Griezmann.
