It’s no secret that Manchester United are in the market for a striker this summer. With Falcao gone, and Robin van Persie out of form, the Red Devils have only Wayne Rooney to call on and act as a viable goal threat.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of five strikers that could come in and bolster the club’s front line to help make them a fearsome force in English football once again.
Karim Benzema – Real Madrid
The Frenchman has always been in fine form for Los Blancos since linking up with them back in 2009. However, having operated mostly in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo – and more recently Gareth Bale – the time could be right for him to flee the nest and head over to England.
As Real continue to be linked with goalkeeper David de Gea, reports have been rife that the two will be involved in some kind of swap deal.
He would certainly add a focal point for United’s attack, as he possesses the kind of height the rest of their striker’s lack, and his record of 133 goals in 281 appearances, he would guarantee that he would represent more than simply being ‘a big man up top’.
