According to The Sun, friends of the 26-year-old had previously claimed that the former Atletico Madrid man wanted to head back to La Liga, after failing to settle in London.

But, Mourinho revealed that the forward is showing absolutely no signs of homesickness, and any suggestions that he would like to leave are well wide of the mark, The Sun report.

“He is the guy responsible for every single good moment and good atmosphere in our dressing room,” he explained.

“He is so happy, he is so funny and he is enjoying every minute at Chelsea and people are enjoying every single minute of him,” he added.

And Costa himself – who apparently reacted angrily at his friends’ claims – gave his own opinion shortly after the Blues’ post-season friendly with Sydney.

The Sun reveal that when asked if he was hoping for a move back to the Spanish capital, Costa – who does struggle with the language – responded: “No. Chelsea,” before grabbing the club crest of his shirt to emphasise his happiness.

Although he has endured some spells on the sidelines due to injury, Costa has been a revelation for the Stamford Bridge side during his first year in England. He scored 20 goals, helping the club win their fourth Premier League title.
