Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that he is an admirer of Chelsea playmaker Oscar, despite the Brazilian’s representatives previously claiming that he will not be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Daily Mirror report that the 23-year-old was being touted as possible bait for a deal that would see the Old Lady’s talisman Paul Pogba move to the Premier League champions. However, that rumour was put to bed last week, as his camp confirmed that he intends to stay.
Nevertheless, Allegri has revealed that he is in the market for a player of his type, and admitted that he liked the Chelsea man. However, he also hinted that Real Madrid’s Isco may be on his radar, the Mirror report.
“A wildcard in the line-up can bring a different balance to the table,” he said.
“Ego in moderate amounts is not harmful to a team’s health. I like Real Madrid’s Isco and Brazil’s Oscar.
“The addition of a no.10 to the mix is both a tactical desire and a desire to add ego to my team,” he added.
Oscar enjoyed another excellent season for the Blues, scoring six times and bagging eight assists. However, his efforts were largely overshadowed by Eden Hazard, who went on to claim the PFA Player of the Year Award.
But, Jose Mourinho last month revealed his confidence that Oscar can enjoy a year next season like the Belgian had this time around, the Daily Express reported, which seemed to suggest that he has no plans to let him go.
“I have a feeling Oscar next year can have the same evolution Hazard had this season,” he explained.
However, should the Champions League finalists’ interest materialise into a fantastic offer, Mourinho may be tempted to let the player move on.
