The 33-year-old is attracting interest from the Gunners, as well as Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Daily Mirror. And while the stopper’s preference is to stay in London – where his family are settled – his current club would rather he move to Ligue 1.
Cech is keen to leave Stamford Bridge after over a decade with the club, having had to watch the majority of the current campaign from the bench thanks to Thibaut Courtois’s emergence into the first team.
He has proved when given an opportunity however, that he still has the ability to be the undisputed number one at most clubs across Europe. He would certainly be a massive addition to Arsene Wenger’s side ahead of next season.
Neither Wojciech Szczesny nor David Ospina have really stamped their authority between the sticks this year, and both have been guilty of mistakes at times. If Arsenal want to make a serious push at the Premier League title, then they need one fantastic goalkeeper, rather than two good ones. Cech may be the answer.
