The Toffees enjoyed a wonderful first year under new boss Roberto Martinez. 1) Southampton (89%)

At the start of the season, many were certain that Southampton would finish in the Premier League’s bottom three, having lost several first-team names that had been crucial to their rise back through the divisions. However, they appointed one of the most famous faces in world football when Ronald Koeman agreed to replace Mauricio Pochettino, and many new players followed him through the door. After a handful of games, they stunned everyone by sitting second in the table, and looked genuine top four contenders for much of the campaign. And while they tailed off, they still booked a place in next year’s Europa League.

In reality, it is little surprise that their value has boomed in the manner it has. Six years ago, administration meant that they were preparing to begin their League One campaign ten points worse off than the rest of the competitors before a ball had even been kicked.
