Former Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao virtually confirmed that his move to Chelsea is a done deal on Wednesday night when cornered by journalists.
The 29-year-old had just helped Colombia overcome Brazil in the Copa America by registering a shock 1-0 win.
The result has placed Colombia right back in the hunt to qualify from their group, but the questions he faced in the mixed zone after the game concerned his future, rather than what had just happened out on the pitch.
When asked to comment on the speculation linking him with a switch to Stamford Bridge, he simply replied with: “It can be [true]. You will know soon.”
Chelsea are expected to announce a season-long loan deal at some point in the near future, and it’s thought that the deal will include an option to buy.
Blues fans will be hoping that he proves better than his displays at United suggested last season, for fear that he may turn out to be Fernando Torres 2.0.
