Young Championship XI that Premier League clubs should be looking at

ST- Benik Afobe (Wolves)

The 22-year-old made the brave decision to leave Arsenal in January when Wolves came calling. And he did his best to prove that the Gunners were wrong to let him go. He scored 13 in 21 games for the Championship side, after boasting a similar record when on loan at MK Dons during the first half of the season. His goals took Kenny Jackett’s men to the brink of a play-off position, although they were denied on goal difference. With a full season under his belt, you would have to argue that the Molineux side have to be one of the favourites for promotion.

ST- Andre Gray (Brentford)

Brentford were the ones to take a chance on Andre Gray last summer, after the 23-year-old had spent the majority of his career in the non-league game. However, they have been completely vindicated for that decision, as the former Luton man scored 16 times in the Championship. Although he clearly has Premier League potential, it looks as if he is set to spend another year at this level, whether it be at Griffin Park or with Queens Park Rangers, who The Sun suggest are keen on a £4m move.

ST- Zach Clough (Bolton)

Of all the players in this team, the biggest question certainly lingers over the Bolton man. His impact since Neil Lennon brought him into the team has been extraordinary. He has scored five times from just eight games, but it remains to be seen if he can handle the pressure once the goals are frequently expected of him. If he can maintain the form he has shown in his brief career so far, there is a potentially a very exciting player in the making.
