Angel Di Maria’s Old Trafford exit is all set to be confirmed, after reports in France suggested that the winger has agreed a five-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Le Parisien, the Argentinian has agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 side just a year after he completed his Manchester United move for a British record transfer fee of £59.7m (via the club’s official website). While the fee is yet to be agreed, Le Parisien suggest that it will be around the €60m mark.
With the deal looking like it is almost done, there is a possibility that the winger could be lining up for Laurent Blanc’s men when they face the Premier League side during their pre-season tour of America.
The move will give the former Real Madrid man the chance to rebuild his career after enduring a torrid time in England. By the end of the season, he looked almost completely bereft of confidence.
The Daily Mail had previously reported that Di Maria had vowed to fight for his place in Louis van Gaal’s side, however, it now appears that he has reconsidered his plans.
