Gareth Bale has hinted that he will be remaining at Real Madrid next season rather than linking up with Manchester United, according to the Daily
The Welshman came under fire from his own fans last season, and has since been consistently linked with a summer return to the Premier League with Manchester United.
He managed just six goals for the Spanish giants since the turn of the year, as they stumbled to a disappointing end of the campaign with no trophies to show for their troubles.
And that prompted reports that the 25-year-old would be sold in excess of £85m.
However, he has remained quiet on the links with Old Trafford, that is up until yesterday when he took to Twitter to express his excitement at starting the new season in the white of Los Blancos.
Had a great summer but can not wait to get back in to the season and challenge for undecima #HalaMadrid

“Had a great summer but can not wait to get back in to the season and challenge for undecima #HalaMadrid,” he tweeted.
The news will likely see United boss Louis van Gaal step up his attention on Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller instead.
