The agent of Chelsea midfielder Juan Cuadrado has sensationally claimed that the Colombian international will now be staying at Stamford Bridge next term as he has the full backing of manager Jose Mourinho, the Metro
Cuadrado only joined the club in the January transfer window, arriving from Serie A giants Fiorentina for a £26m fee, but is already being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after failing to make an impact during the second half of the season.
The 27-year-old made just 12 appearances following his move, starting four, and failed to chalk up a single goal or assist during that time.
However, the winger’s agent has now rubbished reports that he wants to leave in the coming weeks, insisting that he wants to stay and fight for his place with the Premier League champions.
“I read with amazement in some English and Italian newspaper about imaginary figures and agents associated with Cuadrado, so I think it’s right to clarify the situation,” said Alessandro Lucci.
“Cuadrado is a Chelsea player, strongly backed by Mourinho – who believes in him. Juan is fine in London and is very likely to remain at Chelsea. He has interest from other teams but I will repeat – Juan is a Chelsea player.”
