Manchester United may have received a huge blow in their hunt for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos after Spanish TV show El Chiringuito grabbed an exclusive interview with the player’s mum.
The whole thing had an air of Harry Redknapp about it as Mrs Ramos, Paqui Garcia, gave a quick interview from the front seat of her car where she told the cameras “Sergio quiere quedarse en el Madrid” (Sergio wants to stay in Madrid).

However, though that may be true, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the deal won’t go ahead. One of the main reasons that his future has been cast into doubt is because of the pay packet that he has been receiving in the Spanish capital.
Reports in Spanish newspaper Marca claim Ramos wants €10m a season in wages, Real are prepared to go as high as €7.5m, so there is a €2.5m difference of opinion.
