Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has apparently rejected the opportunity to return to the Spanish top flight with Valencia, according to AS.com.
The former Barcelona man made the move to Old Trafford last year, but was forced to sit and watch the action from the bench for the majority of his time there thanks to the form of David de Gea.
Having made just two appearances in the Premier League, the 33-year-old is being targeted by the La Liga giants, who chalked up an impressive fourth place finish last term, thus earning them a berth in the 2015/16 Champions League.
And as such, they had hoped to snap the World Cup winner up to give a boost to their already talented squad.
However, with the future of de Gea still up in the air, Valdes has opted not to take Valencia up on their apparent offer, as he is hopeful of landing the number one spot in Manchester for himself.
