Chelsea’s move for Augsburg full-back Baba Rahman could be about to be scuppered, after Real Madrid decided that they also wanted the youngster.

The Star report that Jose Mourinho has already confirmed that Filipe Luis is set to leave the club, with Atletico Madrid his likely destination, and thus, he would like to add another name in that position, with Rahman appearing to be the leading candidate.
Although Chelsea have recently become one of the powerhouses of the European game, there are arguably few names more appealing to a young player than Real Madrid. However, with Luis’ imminent departure, the sensible decision for the Ghanaian would surely be to choose a switch to Stamford Bridge.
His main competition for a place in Mourinho’s side would be Cesar Azpilicueta, who is more naturally a right-back. While at Madrid, both Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao may well start ahead of Rahman in the pecking order.
